In 2010, the Gemi Group established another of our 100% subsidiary; Gemi Rubber, a condom manufacturer based in Lobatse, Botswana. Current production capacity stands at 300 000 pieces a day making Gemi Rubber the largest condom company in Africa. Gemi is currently undertaking expasion plans to increase capacity to 600 000 pieces a day. We are strategicaly located to supply the SADC region at short notice. Our condoms are manufactured to the highest quality standards using state-of-the-art German technology. Our prices are also very competitive.

The Botswana Pharmaceutical Wholesalers and Manufacturers Association (BoPharma) is a newly formed industry representative body with the vision to improve the quality of life of Batswana by ensuring the stable supply of medicine in Botswana. The Mission of the Association is to achieve adequacy and reliability in the supply and local production of affordable, efficacious, quality medicines in Botswana.

SAGMA


The Southern African Generic Medicines Association (SAGMA) is a a voluntary, non-profit association aimed at the promotion and the production of essential generic medicines in the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC). The Association was inaugurated on the 3rd of December 2009, and officially launched in April 2011 in Cape Town, South Africa. SAGMA draws its membership from the 15 member countries of SADC. Membership is open to all individuals, companies and associations in the SADC with an interest in the local production and promotion of generic medicines. Current members include Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Malawi, Tanzania, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe; this makes SAGMA the official pharmaceutical industry representative in SADC. Angola, Namibia, Mauritius, Mozambique and Seychelles are expected to join shortly.

The Vision of the Association is to create a vibrant and self sustaining generic medicines pharmaceutical industry in the SADC. The Mission of the Association is to achieve self-sufficiency and reliability in the local production and promotion of affordable, efficacious, quality generic medicines in SADC. .
